Load Bearing wall Removal
You may want to remove a wall and wonder if it is a load-bearing wall. It is essential to determine this matter before any step forward. Don't judge this matter without checking the size of existing joists and beams in terms of removing the wall. We find that in many houses, the contractor continued joists on load bearing wall, and the wall is middle support of continuous joists.
To determine whether a wall is load-bearing, we need to visit the site and maybe cut some inspection holes in critical places. Also, we might make some assumptions and indicate them in our drawings. Usually, we deliver our report four days after the site visit. The report includes the existing conditions, supposed conditions and new specifications.
The contractor must verify all existing conditions before performing the work, and the contractor must report any dissimilarities with the engineering report to the designer prior commence the work.
